Julio Enciso has revealed why his first Premier League goal meant so much.

And he has said sorry for a brief flashpoint which preceded that magic moment at Bournemouth.

The teen from Paraguay celebrated, then burst into tears after scoring late on to secure a 2-0 win.

He dedicated the goal to his parents and his late grandfather.

Enciso told The Argus: “First I want to thank God because he gives me strength every day along with my family, all the people who are always there for me.

“I’ve scored a lot of goals but this is one you dream about when you are a kid. Playing in the best league in the world.

“Scoring this goal is a dream which thanks to God I’ve fulfilled.

“My mum and dad weren’t here but they will be very happy.

“They know how hard it is to be far away, to be in a new country, new language.

“It has been difficult for them as well. The goal was for them.

“Also a very special person for me is my grandad, who is in heaven.

“I always hope he can see me and it is all for him.

“When I was small I’d be playing at home and he always watched me there.

“I miss him a lot and I wish with all my soul that he could have seen the goal. I think he saw it from up there!”

Enciso believes his cool finish at the Vitality Stadium will set him up for the big weeks ahead.

He added: “I needed the goal. I will be more calm now to keep working, keep improving.

“It was an excellent pass by Pascal (Gross) which left me in front of goal and thanks to God I was able to score.”

The slightly-built 19-year-old has been keen to stand his ground against physical opponents and faced up menacingly to Cherries’ defender Jack Stephens at one stage.

He said: “When you are on the pitch you can get hot-headed. I said sorry to him afterwards.

“I think on the pitch you can lose it for the moment but it was no more than that.

“I said sorry because I don’t think things like that are good.

“A lot of people are watching me, lots of kids, so it’s not a good example for them.”

Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo limped out of the Bournemouth game during the second half.

But head coach Roberto De Zerbi is confident both will be available for the match at Tottenham on Saturday.
