Albion served up a thriller against Brentford – but had to settle for a point.

We asked four long-time Seagulls fans for their thoughts on the game.

Then we turned attention quickly to the trip to Bournemouth and how the line-up should look there.

What were your thoughts on Albion’s performance against Brentford?

Tim Ayling: A mix of amazing and poor. We looked like scoring every time we went forward, but also looked like conceding when they did. We should have won though, especially with the clear penalty we were denied - though Hickey shouldn't have been on the pitch to make that handball given he should have been sent off for the first one.

Colin Beales: An exciting and eventful match but just not with the result that we wanted. Overall not the best of performances with some really sloppy defending proving costly.

James Heasman: Offensively, I thought we were brilliant against Brentford, and we looked a threat every time we attacked. But defensively, oh dear, we were woeful. Dunk is not as effective on the right and, because Colwill is often out of position, Dunk gets dragged out himself and our defensive shape is poor. Every goal we conceded was preventable. As much as I rate Michael Oliver, he had a poor game, and once again VAR failed Brighton in terms of the second penalty at the end.

Alan Brownings: It was an amazing game to watch and of the type that don’t come around too often. You always felt if we got ourselves in front we might go on to win it, we pushed and pushed but never quite got there.

Who was your pick of the Albion players?

Tim Ayling: Caicedo and March were excellent again, but my man of the match was Mac Allister. I still prefer him deeper, but he was outstanding this weekend.

Colin Beales: Mac Allister looked pretty effective in midfield driving the play forwards.

James Heasman: Quite difficult, Welbeck and Mitoma did well as did Solly March, but Moises Caicedo was a driving force throughout.

Alan Brownings: Hard to pick between Caicedo and Mac Allister, but I’m going to go with Caicedo who was the engine room in midfield.

We expect Adam Webster will play at Bournemouth but are there any other tweaks you would make?

Tim Ayling: I still feel safer with Sanchez in goal though can't see RDZ making that change. It wouldn't be a shock to see one of the young South Americans have a start.

Colin Beales: Not sure I'd change too much, maybe an extra session to work on our shooting. Loads of chances but not really much that troubled the keeper.

James Heasman: Not really. I felt Pascal had an off-day in terms of quality and at times looked tired, so maybe I’d bring Gilmour in, just to ‘sit’ and provide more protection for the centre-backs, so Mac Allister and Caicedo can push on.

Alan Brownings: March and Veltman looked particularly like they could do with a rest, I felt Veltman was exposed to pace on more than one occasion and Solly had five good second half chances to score - you have to take one of them.
