Albion were held by Leeds after going ahead twice.
But there was some good football to enjoy at Elland Road.
We asked four long-time fans for their thoughts on the 2-2 draw in West Yorkshire.
Then we turned the focus on a game Albion fans find it harder to enjoy – as Crystal Palace visit the Amex.
What are they expecting from one tomorrow night?
1. What were your thoughts on Albion’s performance against Leeds?
Colin Beales: The feeling of a decent Albion performance, yet nothing taking all the spoils rears its ugly head again. I really can’t criticise too much as I thought we were the better team throughout, but once again the inability to put away clear chances comes at a huge cost where Leeds clearly got more than they deserved.
James Heasman: I felt we played okay, nothing more. Our finishing remains very inconsistent, and if we are to progress we need to improve in this area. The miss by Welbeck was very poor. I also feel that we are beginning to look for the ‘perfect goal’, rather than shooting when we have the opportunity.
Tim Ayling: We played some amazing football at times, and really should have been out of sight. It’s such a pleasure watching Brighton these days. I would say that some players had an off-day, while others were excellent.
Alan Brownings: Another good performance away from home and I hope we get to look back at it as a point gained rather than two lost, it’s a shame we didn’t take our chances, with three good balls through to Welbeck and great opportunities we probably should have won it.
2. Who was your pick of the Albion players?
Colin Beales: Caicedo for me. The guy just breaks things up and puts us back on-track. There just aren’t many players who seem to get the better of him.
James Heasman: Caicedo played well, as did Dunk and Gross, but I think I’ll go for Alexis Mac Allister, used the ball positively and took his goal well.
Tim Ayling: Mac Allister in the first half was unplayable, but missed a couple of good chances. Caicedo was by far the best player on the pitch throughout though. He was up against three at times and they couldn’t get to grips with him at all.
Alan Brownings: Caicedo dominated midfield, controlled everything and looked a class above everybody else.
3. Your pre-match thoughts on this Wednesday’s game versus Crystal Palace?
Colin Beales: In a word, nervous! Our recent form of letting teams get more from us than they should will not have gone unnoticed by Palace. You wouldn’t bet against them to register their first shot on target in four games and it bobbling in. Of course the inverse would be preferred with an emphatic victory, bragging rights and maybe the end to the Viera era.
James Heasman: These matches are always difficult with very little between the teams. Palace remain a reasonable team but are on a bad run. It would be lovely to have a convincing victory but realistically I will be happy with a win.
Tim Ayling: We’ll batter them with 90% possession and draw 1-1. We all know it. I hate this fixture so much.
Alan Brownings: We need to be at it from the start and not give them an opportunity to breathe. We need to batter them. We never seem to finish them off - and not make stupid mistakes. They always seem to find a way back in and get the luckiest decisions or goals, we have to take the element of chance away from them.
