Albion and Lewes are both through to the last eight of the Women’s FA Cup after a goal rush in Sussex.
Both teams went in as favourites against lower-division opponents and duly delivered big wins.
The Seagulls beat Championship strugglers Coventry United 5-0 at the Broadfield Stadium and Lewes thrashed fourth-tier Cardiff City 6-1 at the Dripping Pan.
Albion had to work harder than the final margin suggests.
They went ahead in style in 17 minutes when Brianna Visalli, found by Julia Zigiotti’s superb pass, cut in from the right and angled a fine finish inside the far top corner.
A number of missed opportunities followed but Visalli ended those frustrations in the 77th minute with another superb effort.
After some patient build-up, she moved on to a deft lay-off from Lee Guem-min before placing her shot inside the far post.
Lee thrashed home an emphatic finish on the turn on 88 minutes after Katie Robinson crossed low.
Another low cross by Robinson led to Fran Orthodoxou turning into her own net in added time.
There was still time for Lee to fire home a terrific finish from 25 yards.
Ellie Mason scored four for Lewes as they reached the quarter-final for the first time.
Kenzie Weir and Aqsa Mushtaq added late goals.
