Despite the cold and misty weather yesterday, hopeful fans turned up in their thousands to watch Albion take on Fulham at the Amex.
The game was their first Premier League defeat of 2023, with a draw snatched from them in the very final minutes of the game when Fulham's Manor Solomon scored.
Brighton and Hove Albion fans already didn’t have much to cheer about when De Zerbi was shown a red card by referee Darren England after the 1-0 defeat.
Albion pushed hard for a win and had some decent chances – as well as two penalty shouts.
The Seagulls were dominant throughout and had two goals ruled out for offside but failed to make the most of their chances.
Brighton had 21 shots at goal, with a third of these on target. They also had 66 per cent possession.
Fulham have now leapfrogged Brighton and sit in sixth place, but, having played two more games than Brighton, could quickly fall back down the table.
With 35 points, Albion sit in seventh place.
Albion’s Premier League trip to Newcastle United next weekend has been postponed after Newcastle reached the Carabao Cup final on Tuesday night.
