Albion have been urged to “catch the moment” and push for Europe.

The Seagulls take on Fulham at the Amex today (3pm) with a best-ever season firmly in their sights.

Roberto De Zerbi is not afraid to set targets high – even in the world’s richest league.

The head coach said: “In the dressing room, I decide our target and I hope the players believe in me when I speak.

“Football is very nice because on the pitch you can be with money or without money the same.

“There are 22 players, one ball, and you have to fight to win. The shirt is not important, it’s important what you have to do on the pitch.

“I think for the moment we deserve our place in the table.”

Albion have several players producing the best football of their careers and their head coach believes they can upset wealthy rivals.

He added: “Not for two, three or four years in a row but you have to catch this moment.

“Because we have Mac Allister, Caicedo, Mitoma, Sanchez and Dunk at this moment in his career. Also Gross and March.

“So, we have to be ready to catch this moment and then push. And then, we’ll see.”

De Zerbi is happy to talk of Europe as a goal.

He added: “If we do not arrive at our target, you can tell me ‘Roberto, you spoke about Europe and the results are not like this’.

“But for me it’s not important if we arrive or not. It’s important in this part of the season to progress, to improve, to put our targets higher.

“I know this way to progress, to grow.”
