A football match taking place this afternoon will go ahead without spectators due to an issue with a sewage pipe.
Fans hoping to watch today’s match between Brighton Electricity and Capel FC will be left disappointed due to a “serious sewage pipe issue” at the Sports Complex at Withdean Stadium.
Brighton Electricity said the issue meant that no spectators were allowed inside the stadium as a result and apologised to those planning to attend the fixture at 2pm.
Capel FC currently sit third in Division Two of the Southern Combination Football League, with Brighton Electricity in last place.
Withdean Stadium was the home ground of Albion between 1999 and 2011 and is currently home to both Brighton Electricity and AFC Varndeanians.
