Albion will re-iterate their strong “not for sale” message to any of Moises Caicedo’s suitors – after rejecting a bid from Arsenal.
The Argus understands the offer from the Gunners was knocked back in "very robust terms".
Further bids for the player are not being invited.
Arsenal’s offer, reported at £60 million, is believed to come way short of Albion’s valuation of the Ecuador star.
At the same time, that valuation is of limited relevance for this month as the Seagulls remain adamant they will not sell the player.
Arsenal are by no mean alone in wanting to sign Caicedo, who is set to feature in the FA Cup tie versus Liverpool on Sunday.
A host of clubs are keen on his services, including - reportedly - Liverpool themselves.
Head coach Roberto De Zerbi believes a mid-season move is in neither Albion’s nor Caicedo’s best interests and has told the player as much in a behind-the-scenes conversation.
