Albion feel on “a better page” as they attempt to climb the WSL table.

And they hope that helps them shock Arsenal.

The Gunners come to the Broadfield Stadium this evening (6.45pm) for Albion’s first home league game under Jens Scheuer.

They lost his opener away to bottom-of-the-table Leicester.

But there was more promise in midweek as they drew 0-0 with West Ham in the Conti Cup before taking the extra point by winning a shoot-out 3-0.

It was their first clean sheet of the season.

While that feat will be very hard to repeat against Arsenal, Julia Zigiotti believes they are as well prepared as they can in these early says with the new boss.

Th Sweden midfielder said: “I think it has been a really good two weeks.

“We have trained a lot harder.

“Jens knows what he wants and I think the whole team adapts to that and gives more than they might have given before.

“It feels like we are on a better page right now.”

Scheuer attempted to put all the pressure on the opponents ahead of last week’s game at the King Power.

That will be rather easier this time with few people expecting Albion to interrupt Arsenal’s title push.

Scheuer said: “Arsenal is one of the easiest games of the season because no one expects a win or that we are really successful.

“But we should be well prepared.

“It’s possible to win these games and I’m sure, if we can bring 100% of our performance from Wednesday, we have a chance.

“With a little bit of luck on our side, maybe we can steal a point.

“It would have better if we could prepare for longer with the whole team like in pre-season.

“It’s how it is. For me, it’s better Arsenal and Chelsea are coming now.

“We have to keep an eye on the bigger games for us against the other teams.

“But I’m not going into this game to lose it.

“We want to win this game, 100%.”

Much interest around teamsheet time will focus on how Scheuer plays it in goal.

He has made a high-profile signing in Lydia Williams, who arrives from PSG and has won 100 Australia caps.

But Megan Walsh has made great progress in the last couple of seasons.

She underlined that with three penalty saves out of three in the midweek shoot-out.

There will also be the target of scoring the first goal of Scheuer’s tenure.

Zigiotti, who is a bundle of energy with a nice technical touch in midfield, would love to help in that.

She said: “I need to come a bit higher up and we need to keep the ball a bit higher up for me to do that.

“Hopefully they are some more goals to come.”
