Lorent Tolaj has been urged to keep going for goal after opening his senior account.

The on-loan Albion striker scored a spectacular winner for Salford City, where he is on loan.

His left-foot drive secured a 1-0 success at home to Bradford City in the Papa John’s Trophy.

Tolaj has only started three league games, coming off the bench a further five times.

But his performance was one of the bright spots of Saturday’s 4-1 defeat by Carlisle as he came back into the side.

He then showed the sort of explosive finishing with which followers of Albion’s under-21s have become accustomed.

Salford boss Neil Wood said: “He’s got an unbelievable shot on him, Lorent.

“We keep telling him to let it go.

“He has scored some good goals in training, he lets it fly, so really pleased for him.

“He took his chance, a great strike, so much power on it, so a really good goal to win the game.”

Tolaj, the 21-year-old from Switzerland, converted from the spot during a shoot-out earlier in the competition.

He believes Salford can go all the way in the Trophy and is enjoying his time in the North West.

Tolaj said: “It’s really nice, I’m really enjoying it – the lads, the city, the football.”
