Roberto De Zerbi has revealed why he believes Solly March is under-appreciated by the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
The Albion boss said his winger has been a hidden gem.
And, when further quizzed on the Hailsham flyer by The Argus, he said he is good enough for the Champions League.
March shone in the 4-1 win over Chelsea – and has impressed throughout the early part of the season.
Head coach De Zerbi said: “I think Solly March can play better and better and better because people in football don’t know Solly March really 100%, about his quality and his potential skills.”
Asked why he felt March was under-appreciated, he said: “I wasn’t talking about the journalists.
“The qualities and levels of March are very important.
“I don’t know if during his career, clubs playing in Europe were asking about his performances but he has 100% the quality to play Tuesday and Wednesday – and Tuesday and Wednesday you play….”
The Argus: "Champions League! And what do you particularly like?"
De Zerbi: “He is complete. He has technical quality, physical quality.
“He’s a good guy, he’s a smart guy who understands immediately.
“But not only him. Dunk the same. He has been called in by the national team once?
“Mac Allister, Caicedo? All people understand Mac Allister and Caicedo are two big players and I would like the people to understand that March too is a big player.”
