Albion welcome Nottingham Forest at the Amex - with the visitors rock bottom of the Premier League table.

Forest have picked up just one point in five away games to date since winning promotion last season.

But they were a failed penalty away from taking some reward at Wolves on Saturday.

Joe Grant reports on the challenge they will provide to the Seagulls this evening.

Team News

Summer signing Renan Lodi is a doubt for the trip to the Amex with an ankle injury. Omar Richards is also unavailable in defence with injury, as well as Moussa Niakhate who is expected to be out for another month.

In midfield, Lewis O’Brien is unlikely to play as he struggles with illness that kept him out of the defeat to Wolves last time out. Jack Colback also missed the trip to Molineux with a back injury and is also a doubt for the game at the Amex.

Current Form

Forest have endured a difficult start to the season in their return to the top flight, sitting bottom of the league on just five points from their ten games. The visitors have won just one game this season, at home to West Ham.

Steve Cooper’s side did pick up a point at home to Aston Villa in their last game at the City Ground but defeat away to managerless Wolves last time condemned them to rock bottom for another week, with Brennan Johnson missing a penalty. Forest have only picked one away point this season.

Key Players

Despite their league position, the visitors have a team full to the brim with talent after spending 150 million on 23 players across the summer since they were promoted back to the Premier League.

That spending included £42.5 million on talented England Under 21 midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White who Albion will be very wary of. Forest also have former Seagulls loanee Jesse Lingard at their disposal who has endured a tough start under Cooper but has a proven track record of scoring and assisting goals.

Weaknesses

The visitors have constantly leaked goals and have the second most goals conceded in the league. The sheer number of signings that Forest made seem to have yet to gel and Cooper’s side have a lock of cohesion on the pitch.

Forest don’t have an out and out goal scorer that is going to get 15 to 20 goals a season to help keep them in the Premier League.
