Albion could be spurred on by a special visitor as they prepare to face Reading in the WSL.
Maisie Symonds scored the late goal which secured a 1-0 win over Leicester when they played at the Amex last season.
It also won her the goal of the season prize.
The young England prospect’s season is on hold for now after she was taken ill on Albion’s pre-season trip to Bavaria with what turned out to be glandular fever.
She has revealed via social media she is making progress and there were tentative plans for her to visit the squad today.
Powell said: “Maisie has glandular fever and it’s not a five-minute thing, it’s a six-month thing.
“She was quite poorly but she is on the mend and we are in regular contact with her.
“Her passion is football, that is what she lives for as a young kid.
“She is disappointed she can’t play but the most important thing, and we keep saying it to her, is she has got to get well and healthy first.
“She has had some positive test results so she is quite upbeat at the moment.
“But you can understand how difficult it has been for her.”
Albion hope to be backed by more than 5,000 fans as they take on Reading at the Amex tomrrow (2pm) with tickets on sale HERE.
Tickets remain on sale for the Reading game, priced £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
