Andrew Whing believes Albion are in good shape to make the play-offs after reaching their points target in a hectic March.

The Seagulls are two points outside the top six, with a game in hand on Tranmere Rovers, following another draw in the backyard of the big-hitters of League One. A goalless stalemate against Leeds at Elland Road came after the same result against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Defender Whing, who denied Dougie Freedman with a goal-line clearance early on, said: "It was great point for us and to go away to Forest and Leeds in a week and get two points is fantastic.

"March has been absolutely crazy, nine games. We set a target of points and we reached it at Leeds, which is great.

"It's looking promising. We have got a massive game now against Port Vale on Saturday.

"I know they are practically relegated but the pressure is off them. They had a good result (2-1 at home to Leyton Orient), so it is going to be a tough game.

"But we are growing in stature and confidence and now we can push on for the remainder of the season."

The Leeds match was Albion's ninth in 29 days and the 15 points taken from a punishing programme has put them right in the play-off hunt.

Boss Dean Wilkins said: "It has been a ridiculous schedule, so very well done to everybody. We have got a free week now, which will be good for us.

"If you had said at the start of the month this is the position we would be in, we would have taken it all day long."

How many points do you think Albion will need to make the play-offs?
