Dean Wilkins has accused Nottingham Forest of sly tactics after the Albion boss was sent back to the stands for the closing stages of yesterday's clash at the City Ground.

He was furious with the way Forest manipulated the multi-ball system and took matters into his own hands by dispossessing one of the ball boys.

Wilkins, who switches between a seat in the stands and the touchline during matches said: "Two balls came on to the pitch on the far side so the multi-ball system was stopped.

"Then Forest, quite slyly, kept a ball down their attacking end, which I was not at all happy with. When the ball went off the pitch once, high into the stands, they were taking a throw-in almost immediately.

"I think that was a massive flouting of the rules and after that incident, as I looked down the touchline, they had another ball.

"That is wrong. If the multi-ball is stopped then it is stopped. I did what anyone else would have done and went and collected it off the ball boy and gave it back to the fourth official.

"I thought I was doing a good job, to be honest, but then he sent me to the stand."

Wilkins could be in danger of a touchline ban if referee Nigel Miller reports the incident.
