Nottingham Forest 0, Albion 0.

Albion maintained their push for the play-offs with an excellent and hard-earned point at the City Ground.

Michel Kuipers was the star of the show for the Seagulls as they defended valiantly to keep fourth-placed Forest at bay.

The Dutch keeper made fine saves in the first half from Kris Commons (twice) and Luke Chambers and from Wes Morgan after the break.

Albion rode their luck at times. Matt Thornhill hit a post in the opening 45 minutes and missed a sitter early in the second half.

Forest were denied by the woodwork again with six minutes left when a 20-yard shot from Lewis McGuigan rebounded off the inside of the far post.

It was not entirely one-way traffic. Nicky Forster missed an open goal for Albion from close range early on, the outstanding Tommy Elphick had a header pushed on to the bar by Forest keeper Paul Smith and Joel Lynch was inches too high from long-range.

Albion are now in a play-off spot by virtue of scoring more goals than Tranmere after they were beaten at Bournemouth.
