Adam Lallana is earning high marks in his temporary new role – as assistant head coach.
The midfielder sidelined by injury has been helping interim boss Andrew Crofts after Graham Potter and his team left the club.
Albion deputy chairman and chief executive Paul Barber said: “When I called Adam Lallana to see if he could support Andrew Crofts, Shannon (Ruth) and Nick (Stanley), the enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism I was met with surprised even the highest expectation I had.
“That says everything about Adam Lallana and the type of person and professional he is.
“Equally Andrew Crofts, Shannon - they were in at the training ground at 7am on the morning of Graham’s departure to make sure they were in the best possible place they could be.
“And to give the players the best level of support for the last couple of days before the Bournemouth game.
“That is just typical of the type of characters we have in the club. Full credit to them for being the people and the professionals they are.”
