Crawley boss Steve Evans has agreed a new three-year contract on the day the club took a step closer to being sold.
Evans has signed an extension to his current deal, which had one year left to run, to keep him at Broadfield Stadium until the summer of 2011.
He put pen to paper after an unknown consortium interested in buying Reds agreed the final details of the proposed takeover.
They have completed their background checks and are expected to finalise the deal before the end of the season.
The incoming owners are believed to be happy for Evans to sign his new contract.
