Nicky Forster has urged Albion to grind their way into a play-off spot after seeing off automatic promotion candidates Doncaster Rovers.

Saturday's 1-0 home win over Rovers, secured by skipper Forster's fourth goal in five games, eased the Seagulls up to ninth in the League One table.

They will move into a play-off position with another victory in their game in hand at Huddersfield on Tuesday night.

Forster said: "We're looking healthy. We have got to grind out these games.

"We have got a lot of games still, just in this month, so we have got to keep pushing and trying to win, starting from Tuesday."

Forster converted the rebound after his second-half penalty, contoversially awarded for a trip on him by Doncaster midfielder Brian Stock, had been saved by Neil Sullivan. Boss Dean Wilkins said: "We are in a really good position now and the players are absolutely buzzing because it was a real game of football against a very good side.

"I've said before if we keep a clean sheet I feel really confident we will score in every game we play."

Six of Albion's remaining ten matches are away from fortress Withdean but Wilkins is bullish about his side's prospects for the rest of the season. He said: "I feel as though we are good enough to pick up a lot of points away from home, even though our away form is not as good as it was last year.

"I still feel confident we can pick up wins, especially as we look so threatening on the break at times."

Left-back Matt Richards is ruled out tomorrow night by a hamstring injury which Wilkins fears is a tear but right-back Andrew Whing is available. He starts a two-match suspension in Saturday's home game against Swindon following his tenth booking of the campaign.
