Kerry Mayo has urged his Albion team mates to relax and enjoy the run-in.
The veteran defender played a key part in winning the penalty against Doncaster on Saturday from which Nicky Forster sent Albion closer to a prized top-six berth.
Mayo reckons the play-offs can be within reach as long as Albion do not let promotion stress take over.
He said: "We've had some good wins and that is holding us in good stead.
"We don't have to worry about going down so in theory we can just relax and play our football.
"If we don't get too over-confident or too pressured, I think we'll make the play-offs.
"The minute we start thinking 'we've got to win to make the play-offs' is when we might get a few nerves on the pitch from various players. They might not be on song because of that.
"You see our best football when everyone is relaxed."
Mayo is delighted to be in the limelight and would love a third start of the season when the Seagulls go to Huddersfield on Tuesday.
He said: "At the moment there is healthy competition for all positions. If you play well the gaffer is a great believer that you should you keep your spot.
"But if need be he is not afraid to change it, which is a good thing."
