Adam Lallana is facing at least a month out of Premier League action.
The midfielder missed Saturday’s game against Leeds due to a calf injury.
Head coach Graham Potter does not expect him to return until after next month’s international break.
That would rule him out of the trips to Fulham and Bournemouth as well as home games against Leicester and Crystal Palace.
Albion resume after the subsequent break with a trip to Lallana's previous club Liverpool on October 1 although Potter did not specify that match as a target date for his return.
The Seagulls boss said: "He has got a problem with his calf so it's going to be probably the other side of the international break, I would guess."
Lallana was at the Amex on Saturday to see the Seagulls beat Leeds 1-0.
Potter had previously named the same XI for the first three games of the season.
