Deniz Undav scored his first goal for the club and Steven Alzate added a second right on half-time.
A richly deserved late third from Evan Ferguson, his first senior goal, after good work from debutant Cam Peupion, wrapped things up nicely for the Seagulls.
Julio Enciso caught the eye on his first senior outing since arriving from Paraguay and Kaoru Mitoma was again lively.
Debut-making Jack Hinchy and James Furlong also had special nights as they made debuts off the bench.
The third round does not take place until November.
