His first outing this term was in the Championship, as Luton and Birmingham drew 0-0.
Paul Tierney, whose performance in charge of Albion’s win at Manchester United was much scrutinised, has a busy weekend in prospect.
He will be VAR on Saturday as Manchester United visit Brentford.
Tierney will then referee Liverpool’s game at home to Crystal Palace on Monday.
