Albion have signed left-back Imari Samuels from Reading.
The 19-year-old left-back arrives on a two-year deal.
He goes into the under-21 squad as they prepare to open their league season at Crystal Palace on Monday.
Albion coach Andrew Crofts said: “He’s an exciting talent, who can play on either side, who likes to attack.”
Samuels made 38 appearances for Reading in Premier League 2 last season and has represented England at youth level up to under-17s.
Reading will receive a compensation fee after Samuels turned down the offer of a pro contract this summer.
