Danny Bloor says his Eastbourne Borough side have plenty of work to do ahead of the new Vanarama National League south season.

They beat SCFL outfit Bexhill 7-1 in their latest friendly.

Borough boss Bloor praised his side’s movement in the first half but added: “The result is irrelevant.

“I’d say we are about 60% there so there is a lot to be done in these next two weeks.

“Set-pieces, working on patterns, so on and so forth.

“But we are certainly working in a direction we are all happy with.”

Greg Luer (2), Leone Gravata (2), new signing Shiloh Remy, Jaden Perez and an own goal made up the tally.

Miquel Scarlett, a former Gillingham and Colchester youngster, played the second half.

Scarlett, who has four full international caps for Anguilla in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, can play at full-back or in midfield.

Former Albion midfielder Charlie Harris scored a first-half hat-trick as Whitehawk won 7-1 at Hassocks.

The hosts, who gave a good account of themselves against Burgess Hill in midweek, were well beaten here.

Will Miles, Charlie Lambert, Javaun Splatt and a trialist completed the Hawks’ tally with Sam Smith heading home the Hassocks reply.

The hosts lost Pat Harding with three broken ribs.

He spent Saturday night in hospital.

Charlie Kelly’s downward header late on gave Burgess Hill a 2-1 win at Chipstead after Connor Tighe’s goal had brought them level.

Hillians are at home to what is likely to be a youthful Albion XI on Wednesday.

Former Albion star Jake Robinson scored a hat-trick and Ollie Pearce struck twice as Worthing beat a young Swindon Town XI 5-1.

Bognor have signed ex-Gosport and Lewes forward Nick Dembele, former AFC Wimbledon midfielder Isaac Olaniyan and Tom Bragg, a centre-back on loan from Eastleigh.

Olaniyan, 19, and Tom Chalaye scored in a 2-0 win over Horndean.
