Salernitana are confident of striking a deal for Neal Maupay.
The forward had just 20 minutes of playing time in Albion’s 2-1 win at Reading yesterday.
The Serie A club are looking to add to their attack after narrowly avoiding relegation last season and appear to believe Maupay would be happy to join them.
Albion have received an offer for the player.
Media in Italy have been briefed that Salernitana have offered 12 million euros and could land their man for 15 million euros.
Those numbers do not tally with initial accounts in England, with The Athletic reporting a bid of £15 million.
Albion have a friendly on Tuesday against Maupay’s previous club Brentford, when Graham Potter plans to use players who had limited minutes yesterday.
Seagulls fans sang Maupay’s name at various points in the game at Reading.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport have been told there is “optimism about closing a deal” in Salerno.
