Shane Duffy is set for talks over his Albion future.

The centre-back says he needs to be “playing football every week”.

That could mean a move away from the Amex a year before the end of his current contract.

Duffy, 30, is currently away with the Republic of Ireland and sees regular club football as key to his international career.

He said: “I’ve not played a lot. There have been a couple of things, a few niggles from March and I couldn’t get into a team that was doing so well it finished ninth in the Premier League, the highest position in the club’s history.

“It’s difficult not playing every week and every footballer will tell you that.

“You have got to keep your head down and keep going.

“I will sit down with the club after this camp.

“I know I need to be playing regularly to be involved and playing for my country, which is probably the biggest thing for me.

“I know I need to be playing football every week.”

Duffy made 15 league starts for Albion last term after returning from his loan at Celtic.

But only three of them came after mid-December.

His current focus is with his country and he is confident they will bounce back from defeat as they target Nations League victory over Ukraine in Dublin.
