Danny Welbeck will keep contract talks on hold as he aims for a big finish to the season.
The Albion striker scored and was hugely involved in an own goal as his side drew 2-2 with Southampton at the Amex.
He is out of contract this summer but the Seagulls would love to keep him and see their array of younger talent tap into his experience.
Welbeck scored in the second minute and led a move from deep in his own half as Saints defender Mohammed Salisu put the ball into his own net.
But a James Ward-Prowse double earned Saints their point.
He said: “I am feeling good, feeling fit and strong.
“Getting the minutes and being back in the team, in the starting line-up, and getting a run of games together is important for me.
“I’m looking to finish the season strong and see what happens.
“I had a really tough injury, which was difficult to come back from.
“I’ve kept my head down and worked hard and I’m feeling really good.”
Welbeck told The Argus he will not get involved in off-field matters with four games still to play.
He said: “I speak to my representatives and I am sure there will be a lot of conversations.
“But, for me. I don’t get involved in that.
“I just really focus on being the best I can be on the pitch and getting fitter and stronger.”
Tariq Lamptey missed yesterday’s match with a minor knee injury.
