How Albion players rated in the win at Arsenal.
ROBERT SANCHEZ 8/10
Really came into his own in the second half with some commanding high claims and a superb save late on. Might even have got a touch on the Odegaard free-kick too.
JOEL VELTMAN 8/10
It soon became clear Albion would need a strong display from the reliable Dutchman and he produced exactly that. Shows patience, know-how and composure in his defending.
LEWIS DUNK 8/10
A huge performance in central defence. Made a couple of possibly goal-saving blocks, one in each half, and won headers. Had to hurry but his ball down the right released Mwepu for the first goal.
MARC CUCURELLA 9/10
Always an asset out wide but is also a strong defender in more central areas, as he showed with protection of his far post late in the first half and with a block of an Nketiah header in the frantic finale.
PASCAL GROSS 7/10
A dependable man for a specific job, which included tactical discipline and ability to keep the ball. Found himself exposed out wide late on.
YVES BISSOUMA 8/10
A very effective midfield performance as Albion blocked Arsenal’s passing options and made themselves really hard to play through.
MOISES CAICEDO 8/10
Looked very much at home on his Premier League debut. Physically competitive, mobile and good on the ball – and he saw the chance to surge forward and play a big part in the winning goal.
ENOCK MWEPU 9/10
Played a huge part on both goals, showing great technique, control and appreciation of what was going on around him both with the cutback for Trossard and the precise half-volley finish. He also does a lot of good work all around the park.
ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER 7/10
Involved in the move for the winner. Was perhaps quieter than in some games but played his part in the team plan.
LEANDRO TROSSARD 8/10
A week after Albion had quantity rather than quality of shots, he produced a perfectly controlled, cleanly hit finish to set the ball rolling. Started very wide on the left and did well on the ball.
DANNY WELBECK 7/10
Led the attack and, while he had no sniff of goal, helped others play as he looked to occupy the Arsenal defenders.
SUBS – ADAM LALLANA N/A
Presumably sent on with the aim of helping Albion retain possession and some control but it did not really work like that.
TARIQ LAMPTEY N/A
A late role in wide areas on both right and left.
ADAM WEBSTER N/A
A late return to action saw him competing in the air with Aaron Ramsdale as the home keeper ventured forward at corners.
