Albion will check on Alexis Mac Allister after he was victim of a knee-high challenge in South America.
The midfielder went off as Argentina drew 1-1 with Ecuador in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
He has now headed back to England ahead of the Seagulls’ home game against Norwich on Saturday.
Mac Allister started the game but was taken off after the challenge by Alan Franco.
Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni said: “I don’t know if the referee was lenient.
“What I do know is that it is unfortunate that the VAR has not called to review the Mac Allister incident.
“It is unfortunate how it was handled. Alexis’s leg was all marked by the blow.”
Mac Allister was able to leave the field under his own steam after treatment, albeit limping.

The incident was a disappointing end to a momentous few days for him.
He made his first start for Argentina when he played in the 3-0 win over Venezuela.
That game came in his former home ground at Boca Juniors’ La Bombonera.
He has also added to his name to Albion’s list of full internationals.
His two previous caps had come when he was out on loan.
Mac Allister’s return to the national side was put on hold in January when he tested positive for Covid-19.
Albion’s Moises Caicedo started for Ecuador against Argentina and was also booked for a foul on Mac Allister.
Jeremy Sarmiento went as sub in the second half.
