ALEXIS Mac Allister received some positive comments from manager Graham Potter after his performance against Liverpool.

While playing in a deeper role the Argentinian had a fine game against the Reds as he was able to set up attacks as well as make some important defensive contributions.

Mac Allister's best moment of the game came in the first half as he brilliantly spun himself around Liverpool's defensive midfielder Fabinho.

Potter was happy with the way Mac Allister is learning to express himself in England's top flight.

He told the Argus: "This is the thing, he is a young player learning in the Premier League.

"I thought his personality on the ball was really really good. It is not easy take the ball and take the courage that he has against top players that Liverpool have.

"Their defensive line is so good and so high and it is hard to play around them and hard to play through them.

"They are competing for the Champions League for a reason, but I thought Alexis [Mac Allister] showed great personality and character, as a coach I am happy with that.

When asked about the skill showed by Mac Allister, Potter said: "Yeah, there was some good actions from us and that was one of them."
