How Albion's players rated in the 2-0 Premier League defeat by Manchester United.
Robert Sanchez 8/10
Kept Albion in the contest with second-half saves, the majority of which he would probably be expected to make. The best was an athletic tip-over from Ronaldo’s close-range header.
Joel Veltman 7/10
Dependable again. Employed down the right initially and picked out Moder for his headed chance. Held the fort alongside Webster once Dunk had departed.
Adam Webster 7/10
Lots of good work defending and on the ball once he had got away with an early blunder. But was left by Ronaldo for the opening goal.
Lewis Dunk 6/10
A little unlucky on the red card but had put himself in trouble from which the best outcome could only be a booking and dangerous United free-kick. Not at his most commanding yet after a lay-off.
Marc Cucurella 8/10
Constantly up and down his left flank, looking to pick passes in attack. Produced a great bit of cover to head off Elanga.
Yves Bisosuma 6/10
Ambushed in possession early in the second half and that was so costly. Was not his only loss of possession but the fact this was considered such a poor night for him also says lot a about how he has been playing because he produced some excellent stuff at times.
Pascal Gross 7/10
Involved in much of Albion’s most attractive attacking work in that impressive first half, picking cleverly timed and angled passes. Taken off as part of the rejig.
Alexis Mac Allister 7/10
A really hard-working, competitive display in central midfield. Not at his best on the ball at times but got through a lot of graft and was unlucky not to be awarded a free-kick as United broke away for their second.
Jakub Moder 8/10
Got into some great areas as the defensive resolve of United midfielders was tested. Soaring header was superbly saved by De Gea, although it could have been aimed closer to the top corner, and his late curler which hit the bar was a sensational effort combining vision, confidence and execution.
Leandro Trossard 6/10
Returned to the side after a lay-off and had a mixed evening in possession before being withdrawn.
Neal Maupay 6/10
A tough battle against the United central defenders with no real sniff of goal but he worked well to help get others involved.
SUBS - Tariq Lamptey 7/10
Added some threat down the right after going on as part of a double switch. Helped Albion continue to ask questions at times even with ten and delivered a great cross for Welbeck.
Steven Alzate 6/10
A facilitator for others. Did some good, unsung bits and pieces in terms of retaining and regaining possession and covering spaces.
Danny Welbeck n/a
Got into good positions but was off target with a great late chance to stun his old club.
