Graham Potter admitted Albion were below their best as they exited the FA Cup.
A second-half Yves Bissouma strike was not enough to head off a 3-1 defeat at Tottenham.
Potter said: “I have no complaints, we just weren't at our level. You can't give away three goals and expect to win the game.
"We wanted to go through but we have played a really good opponent with really good players.
“I don’t think we were at our best tonight and it wasn’t any lack of effort from our perspective.
“You have to credit the opponent.
“I thought Tottenham played well and were aggressive and made it difficult for us.

“But I thought we also contributed ourselves to some things. This can happen.
“I thought our personality, our attitude was great but, if we are honest, weren’t good enough to win.
“I think we need to be at our absolute maximum to win here which we weren’t and Tottenham deserved to win.”
