Paul Barber has revealed he asked for an earlier kick-off time at Tottenham.
Albion will play Spurs in an FA Cup fifth round tie at 8pm on Saturday, February 5.
The match could go to extra-time and penalties.
Fans face a potential travel nightmare on the way home, especially if the game goes the full distance:
The kick-off time was one factor in Albion opting to take 5,700 tickets rather than the maximum 9,000.
Barber, Albion’s chief executive and deputy chairman, said: “I made a call to the FA and also to ITV to see if I could get the game moved to an earlier slot.
“Tottenham were willing, the FA were open-minded but in this situation ITV couldn’t move the kick-off.
“I felt if I could even get it moved to seven o’clock it would help people get their kids there and get them back which night have helped us make a different decision on the tickets.
“But we couldn’t do that.”
