Albion are delighted the call to play their top scorer in the FA Cup paid off – as attention now turns to a big Prem night.
Neal Maupay swept home the extra-time strike which sent the Seagulls into the fourth round with a 2-1 win at West Brom.
What was arguably a surprise start stretched to 120 minutes as others, including fellow forward Danny Welbeck, departed early or went on as subs.
Albion boss Graham Potter said: “He got a goal and it was a really hard working performance that you expect from Neal.
“He wants to play, I think all the guys want to play.
“As we have spoken about before, it is a competition and we wanted to win this game, wanted to go through to the next round.
“Neal is an important player for us, the team we selected is a strong one and we wanted to win.”
Albion will visit Tottenham in the fourth round early in Fbruary
