Kjell Scherpen 7/10
A relatively quiet debut but was assured and confident from the moment he dived to cut out a low cross in the first minute.
Joel Veltman 7/10
Steady again on the right of a three before making way. Left outnumbered and with too much to do on the goal (though that has not stopped him denying opponents in the recent past).
Shane Duffy 7/10
Made a couple of important blocks in the first half but defence were caught out for pace as West Brom scored. Missed a great chance to equalise.
Dan Burn 8/10
Left trailing by that rapid Baggies attack as they scored (in fact the best thing he did was to NOT foul and risk a ban) but otherwise got in a lot of good work on the left of defence and ventured forward when possible.
Odel Offiah 7/10
Tempting to go for a higher mark as it was his (surprise) debut but, as he will learn, there are no favours given at this level. Employed down the right and showed increasing confidence and poise on the ball.
Pascal Gross 7/10
An efficient display in midfield and then wide right as part of the team effort. Deserved an assist for chances his stellar deliveries handed Welbeck and Duffy.
Steven Alzate 6/10
A fairly quiet but no doubt welcome midfield outing. Tried to get on the ball and work a way through.
Solly March 7/10
Lots of chances to get on the ball out wide, first down the left and later combining with Gross on the right. Asked questions without ever coming up with that decisive moment. .
Enock Mwepu 6/10
Was having a reasonable first half until injury struck.
Danny Welbeck 6/10
Welcome minutes but would have hoped to have buried a one-on-one when Button blocked his deft flick after a slightly hefty first touch.
Neal Maupay 7/10
A fair amount of frustration as he battled with Bartley but it felt increasingly like the final word would be his. He duly provided an accomplished finish and might have helped extend the lead. Also worth noting possibly a new trademark move. A copy of the flick which started the attack for the first goal at Everton was a factor in the equaliser here.
Subs - Alexis Mac Allister 7/10
Busy in an attacking midfield role after replacing Mwepu and was unlucky to see a low drive well saved by Button late in the 90.
Marc Cucurella 7/10
Not always as precise as he might have been but added important extra energy and momentum down the left.
Leandro Trossard 7/10
Won’t take headlines - and, crazily, won’t even get an assist officially - but had a big role in the sending off and, with his dummy, the winning goal.
Evan Ferguson 7/10
A debut of real promise. Whether it was a heavy touch or a precise pass which led to the equaliser, the great things were his presence and involvement in the move. Later lobbed inches over and had a goal ruled out.
Jakub Moder 8/10
A decisive role striding forward. Produced the sort of emphatic finish which has been missing from him in the league, then the measured service for others which has already lit up the Prem on occasions.
