ALBION midfielder Yves Bissouma will be allowed to go to the Africa Cup of Nations with the club's blessing.

The Malian has not been available for his national side for the past three years by his own decision.

However, the 25-year-old has now made himself an option to the team ahead of the upcoming AFCON tournament.

Albion boss Graham Potter confirmed that the club would not stand in his way if he does go.

Potter said: "He's due to go. Goes with our blessing and good luck to them."

Bissouma will miss Albion's matches until January 20 at least, including their rival match against Crystal Palace.

If Mali progresses past the group stages, Bissouma could be away from Albion for even longer.

The midfielder is a vital part of the Albion team, and he showed his quality with a brilliant outing in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea.

However, Potter does have options to help cover Bissouma's absence. Adam Lallana, Jakub Moder, Enock Mwepu, Pascal Gross, Steven Alzate and Alexis Mac Allister who can all play in the centre of midfield.
