NEAL Maupay has admitted he was happy for Danny Welbeck to be the hero against Chelsea.
The French striker had made a habit out of scoring late goals for Albion and stopping the club from losing.
Maupay did it against Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Southampton, but against Chelsea, it was Welbeck's turn to be the hero.
The former England striker rose highest to head home Marc Cucurella's cross in the 90th minute to earn Albion a well-deserved point against the Blues.
Maupay told BBC Sussex: "What a goal. It is good to share sometimes.
"I am so happy for him because he has been so unlucky with injuries.
"He is such a hard worker and a very good professional. I think he did well on Sunday and did well and he came on again and scored so it is a great night for him."
Maupay believes that Albion's recent form of picking up four points from two games will give them a boost ahead of their match against Everton on Sunday.
"It is definitely good for us, it gives us more confidence.
"It shows that big teams against Chelsea, who have just won the Champions League, that we can go and play our game and cause them problems.
"It is just a process, and we need to keep believing in what we do and keep working.
"I know we have enough good players to be successful in this league."
