Albion are not expecting to see Billy Arce next month, The Argus understands.
The Ecuadorian forward, who has been on loan from the Seagulls to various clubs since 2018, is nearing the end of his four-year contract.
His agent Hernan Banato has told media in Ecuador that Arce could be on his way to England next month to show what he can do.
But a well-placed source closer to Albion told The Argus it is “certainly not something that has been talked about.”
BRIGHTON WELCOME PREMIER LEAGUE CALL TO PLAY ON
Arce, who would require a work permit, was initially placed on loan at Extremadura in Spain’s second tier but did not settle and has since played for three top clubs in Ecuador.
However he has yet to make an international debut, has suffered off-the-field issues and has not fulfilled what looked like considerable potential when Albion first scouted him.
His current club Liga de Quito have been told by their league to reduce their wage bill by 50% this season or face penalties which could include relegation.
