Albion and their Premier League counterparts are set to discuss their next steps to cope with Covid.
After a difficult week, the protocols surrounding postponements in cases of coronavirus outbreaks are set to be discussed at a Prem shareholders meeting today.
The league has been considering applications for match postponements on a case-by-case basis but there has been criticism that the criteria is not clear enough.
Albion requested a call-off of their home fixture against Wolves last week.
They were unsuccessful, as were Chelsea with a similar request against the same opponents yesterday.
The timing of decisions to call off some games has also caused frustration.
All clubs are expected to be represented at the virtual meeting for senior club representatives.
It is understood further calls for managers and captains are likely to take place later in the week.
The issue of vaccination uptake among players is also expected to be discussed in a meeting likely to be dominated by Covid issues.
Prem clubs face an intense schedule and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp yesterday said the midweek round after Boxing Day would, in particular, add stress on squads.
That round, which sees Albion go to Chelsea, would appear in greatest risk of postponement.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel believes his players and staff were put at risk by insistence that the show had to go on at Molineux yesterday.
He said: “So okay, now we will sit on the bus for three or four more hours together. And (on Monday) we will do training, do the testing and wait for the results.”
WSL action has also been hit by the virus. Albion’s game at Arsenal last night was among those called off.
