ALBION are reportedly "edging" closer to agreeing to a deal to sign Blackburn's inform striker Ben Brereton Diaz.

Brereton has been on fire in the Championship and has scored 17 goals in only 21 appearances this season.

Due to this form, Brereton Diaz is reported to have started to receive interest from Premier League sides Newcastle, Leeds, Southampton and Albion.

Albion are believed to be in the market for a striker to help them start converting more chances in the Premier League.

Neal Maupay is the club's top scorer this season with six goals, but only Norwich City and Wolves have scored fewer goals than the Seagulls.

Now according to the Mirror, Graham Potter's side are willing to pay £20million for the striker to get a deal done in the next transfer window.

The former Nottingham Forest youth academy player shot to fame this year when he switched his international allegiance to Chile from England.

The 22-year-old has scored three goals in the nine matches he has played for La Roja and has become a cult hero in the country.

Albion have a good relationship with Blackburn and have loaned two exciting prospects, Reda Khadra and Jan Paul van Hecke, to the Championship side.

The duo are trying to help the Lancashire side return to the English top-flight for the first time being relegated in 2012.

This could give Albion an advantage in signing the striker ahead of other Premier League sides.
