TARIQ Lamptey's fine form for Albion has started to see him attract interest from Manchester United.
The former Chelsea youth academy product has been very impressive since his return from injury this season.
Lamptey was out of action for the best part of a year with constant injury issues, but since his return, he has not looked like he missed a minute of football.
The flying full-back has been one of Albion's standout players since his arrival at the club in January 2020.
The 21-year-old's form has now attracted interest from Manchester United, according to Spanish media outlet Fichajes.
Albion would likely be reluctant to sell Lamptey due to his importance to the team and would probably demand a fee similar to that of Ben White when he was sold to Arsenal last summer for a reported £50 million.
However, it could be an interesting time to join the Red Devils, considering new manager Ralf Rangnick has only been appointed as an interim manager.
Lamptey would also have to compete for a starting space at right-back with former Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and a right-wing spot with Jadon Sancho.
At the end of the season, the German manager will take on a consultancy role at the club until 2024.
Rangnick made his former club Red Bull Leipzig one of the best in Germany by buying young talent and nurturing them into world-class players.
The 63-year-old manager has also had spells at Red Bull Salzburg, in a director role, FC Schalke 04, 1899 Hoffenheim and VfB Stuttgart.
During this time, he has signed world-class talent such as Joshua Kimmich, Manuel Neuer, Erling Haaland, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, David Alaba and Timo Werner, just to name a few.
He signed them all when they were all just prospects and were yet to reach their potential. Lamptey would certainly fit these criteria, as he has a very high ceiling and can get even better than he is now.
Albion goalkeeper Robert Sanchez believes that Lamptey is already at an "unbelievable level" and can get even better.
Speaking after the draw against Leeds, Sanchez said: "Obviously, he is too young, and he has a lot to learn and develop.
"Everyone has something to learn, and I can't tell you personally as I don't play in his position, he is at an unbelievable level now, and he can get even better.
"There are not many players with that kind of pace, he is unbelievable, he uses it really well, and it gives speed to the team."
