Albion and Sussex supporters as well as former players have paid tribute to a well-known, long-time fan of the clubs.
Stuart Ashby had been suffering from Covid and pneumonia. He was 73.
He was also an avid follower of Southend United and was well known for his vast array of photos of players and matches taken at matches and on his travels.
The matchday photos, many of them shared on Facebook, offer an invaluable reminder - or insight for younger fans – of days spent watching matches at venues which have long since disappeared or been updated.

Former Albion player and coach Ian Chapman posted on Facebook: "Very sad to hear this news, lovely man and obviously massive bha fan, who I'm sure will be missed by many rip Stuart.”
Ex-defender Guy Butters added: “Just heard the sad news that a good friend and huge Brighton fan, Stuart Ashby has passed away. Will miss our chats before the game. RIP.”
