Enock Mwepu has been ruled out of international action.
The Albion midfielder misses Zambia’s matches versus Mauritania and Tunisia.
Zambia team doctor George Phiri said: “Enock Mwepu has an injury in one of the muscles, the adductor, the hamstrings, so he was unable to join us.”
Phiri reported Mwepu was having treatment with Albion.
He was substituted at half-time in the Seagulls' draw versus Newcastle last Saturday.
Mwepu's focus will now be on proving his fitness before his club face Aston Villa next Saturday in Steven Gerrard's first game in charge.
