Graeme Jones has confirmed he will be in charge of the Newcastle team at the Amex.
His club are attempting to finalise a deal with Eddie Howe.
Jones, assistant to former head coach Steve Bruce and a great friend of Albion boss Graham Potter, has been at the helm for the last two games and will remain so this weekend.
He told a press conference: “I’m taking it. I’ve prepared the team all week on that proviso.
"Obviously the owners have communicated with me so I know where we are with things.
TRUE OR FALSE, LEANDRO TROSSARD WAS A BIG HIT AT ANFIELD
“But I’ve never lost focus, the lads haven’t lost focus. If you get involved with speculation, you will.
“We know we’ve got a big game tomorrow. I feel like the team is well prepared and looking forward to the game.”
Jones guided Newcastle to a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace in their last away game.
