This is how Albion players rated as individuals at Anfield.

Again, their collective effort was the key, along with a confidence in what they were doing even after going behind.

But there were also some very impressive individual performances.

ROBERT SANCHEZ 7/10

Left standing by Henderson’s fine early finish and needed to react more quickly when Dunk’s pass put him in a tight spot. But that lucky escape actually made his continued composure, confidence and accuracy from then on more commendable and was key to the second goal.

JOEL VELTMAN 8/10

Perhaps the unsung star of the performance. Experience and defensive know-how were just right to play on the right of a four in this test. Always looks calm and dealt with all that came his way.

SHANE DUFFY 7/10

Beaten by Mane’s movement as the returning home star was all alone to head his side’s second goal. But there was some increasingly good stuff from then and he was in charge in the later stages.

LEWIS DUNK 8/10

Probably his best defensive display for a while once the visitors had settled. Was involved in the disallowed Mane goal but just before that had produced a superb block when well-placed Firmino let fly. Commanding as Liverpool put high balls into the box late on.

The Argus:

MARC CUCURELLA 8/10

Fun to watch. Given a testing introduction to the contest by in-form Salah but kept the Anfield idol relativey quiet and started asking his own questions. His speed is such an asset and he was an attacking threat, notably on the second Albion goal.

YVES BISSOUMA 7/10

Back at the scene of his first Prem start three years ago for this return to league action. Provided several reminders of the way he was running games before his recent absence. Hit the post after a driving run during his hour of action.

ENOCK MWEPU 8/10

Was a big part of the passing move which he then finished with a stunning finish to change the story of the afternoon. Can find some useful pockets of space and seems to come up with contributions all over the pitch, although he is clearly at his best in attacking areas.

JAKUB MODER 7/10

No real stand-out moments in a good or bad sense but is part of an Albion midfield who keep the ball moving and work for each other.

ADAM LALLANA 8/10

Started further forward this time, in support of Trossard, but really came into the match in the second half, finding time alongside his patrolling of Henderson to test Alisson, then help in the equaliser.

SOLLY MARCH 7/10

Great movement not always matched by the end product, though that was a fine save by Alisson early on. Gets through an impressive quantity and variety of work and his tactical versatility suits Albion’s fluid style.

LEANDRO TROSSARD 9/10

Such a composed finish to secure a point – and the one which was disallowed wasn’t bad either. Produced great skills under pressure, got his head up and brought others into play to good effect as he led the attack. One wonders whether he could have done more to stop the cross for the second Liverpool goal but otherwise this was a performance to savour.

SUBS - ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER 7/10

Went on with Albion looking strong and helped link play.

TARIQ LAMPTEY 8/10

Sensational off the bench again in a mainly attacking role ahead of Veltman.

PASCAL GROSS N/A

Calm in midfield and delivered a couple of dangerous set-pieces.
