Graham Potter says he is happy with his striking options – despite a “devastating” setback for Danny Welbeck.
The former England striker is expected to miss about three months after undergoing surgery on a hamstring issue.
Steven Alzate will miss a similar period after ankle surgery.
Both went off during the recent 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace, when a late goal from Neal Maupay secured a point.
Maupay will look to add to his four goals so far this season as Albion go to Norwich.
Aaron Connolly and Leandro Trossard, who scored home and away versus the Canaries two season ago, are options at the sharp end.
Albion also have several attack-minded midfielders.
Potter said: “We have got lots of different players in different positions.
“Some young ones, as well, coming through so I am actually excited about the group, excited about the squad.
“We need to keep improving but the mentality of the group is really good.”
Welbeck missed the beginning of the season and was injured in only his third start.
Potter said: “It has been ongoing and in the end surgery seemed to be the best solution for him.
“Obviously it’s devastating for Danny and for us but he has had surgery, all is well and he will be back stronger than ever, I think.
“It is just going to take a bit of time for that to happen.”
Alzate had just gone on for his first league minutes since the opening day when he was hurt at Selhurst Park.
Potter said: “I think it is probably his first major one.
“The challenge for us now is to help him get back stronger than ever which I am sure he can do.”
IS TIME RIGHT FOR TARIQ LAMPTEY TO RETURN TO PREMIER LEAGUE?
Jeremy Sarmiento appears a near-certain absentee this weekend, either for the trip to Norwich or the under-23s’ game at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday (5pm, all-ticket).
He has been away with Ecuador, who played a World Cup qualifier in Colombia last night.
