Sussex star Ollie Robinson has been told to hit the right spot – and keep hitting it - after being picked for the Ashes.
The seamer is part of 17-man England squad set to contest this winter’s Test series in Australia.
Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes are ruled out through injury.
Robinson, after a breakthrough first summer in international cricket, is primed for a key role.
England had once dreamed of matching Australian fire with their own battery of hostile quicks but Archer’s longstanding elbow problems and Olly Stone’s injury means they are now looking at plan B.
ROB ANDREW SAYS BEN BROWN IS FULLY COMMITTED TO SUSSEX
“Every plan has got to be adaptable,” admitted coach Chris Silverwood.
“I think the one thing we have got in the bowling attack is supreme accuracy.
“It’s about how we get the best out of the bowling attack we have got, rather than worrying about what we haven’t got.”
