DANNY Welbeck hopes Albion can "stay hungry" and build on their good start to the season.
Albion have started the season well, winning four of their first seven games and only being beaten once. This run of results has seen the Seagulls climb up to sixth in the Premier League table.
Danny Welbeck has scored one goal in four games this season but missed the last match against Arsenal as manager Graham Potter did not want to take any risks with his hamstrings.
Despite Albion's match against the Gunners ending goalless, they can hold their heads high knowing they were the better side and arguably deserved more.
The 30-year-old striker said: "There is a lot of progression and evolution that's behind our good start to the season. The game against Leicester City, for example, is the sort of game that I don't think we would have won last season, but we are building a winning culture and bringing that into our games.
"We know we had a number of really good performances last season, where we should have come away with more wins, but it is also the games where you are under the cosh for a bit that you want to get the points from.
"It is important we continue to stay hungry, to keep working hard every day, and keep pushing each other within the environment, not just on the pitch but off it as well.
"If everyone can do a little bit more, it gives you that extra few per cent which can make all the difference."
Since promotion to the Premier League, Albion have found themselves in relegation fights for the most part, but this season promises a different challenge for the Seagulls.
Graham Potter will be hoping his team can continue to perform as they have done this season and challenge to stay in the top half of the table of the Premier League.
Potter will now have some time with his players to prepare for their next match against Norwich on October 16, which will be played after the international break.
