Albion remain hopeful of having Adam Webster back to face Norwich City.

But head coach Graham Potter is non-committal about his absent stars going into the international window.

Webster has missed the last three matches after going off with a hamstring injury during the win at Brentford.

Potter has said all along the centre-back will be ruled out until after the current break in fixtures.

Albion return to action at Carrow Road a week on Saturday.

Potter said: “Adam is making progress. We will see how he goes.

“Obviously we have got a couple of weeks now to get ready, to progress. We’re hopeful for Norwich.”

Webster’s defending and ball-carrying make him a big part of Albion’s masterplan but players such as Joel Veltman and Dan Burn have ensured his absence has not been keenly felt.

Potter said: “It’s about the team.

“You defend as a team. It starts with Neal (Maupay, striker) and finishes with Rob (Sanchez, goalkeeper).

“We organise everybody to have the same intentions because we are playing against opponents who have quality and we need to find a solution together.”

Potter had no updates on Danny Welbeck (hamstring) and Steven Alzate (ankle), both of whom have seen specialists, when asked by The Argus.

However he had previously indicated Alzate could face a significant absence after his injury in the 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.

He remained similarly guarded over a possible return for midfielder Yves Bissouma, who has missed the last two matches with a knee problem.

Norwich will go into the game chasing a first win of the season after the lift of picking up a point at Burnley to open their account.

Their boss Daniel Farke said: Of course after six losses there was criticism.

“But I am always level and always convinced we are heading absolutely in the right direction”
